Sochi is a city in Krasnodar Krai, Russia, located on the Black Sea coast near the border between Georgia/Abkhazia and Russia; approximately 1700 km from Moscow. Being part of the Caucasian Riviera, it is one of the very few places in Russia with a subtropical climate, with warm to hot summers and mild winters.
Sochi is the largest resort city in Russia, an important traffic centre and also a principal economic and cultural centre of the Russian Black Sea coast.
Unofficially Sochi is known as the summer, southern and resort ‘capital’ of Russia. In 2012 Forbes magazine considered Sochi to be the best city for doing business in Russia.
International Investment Forum Sochi is an annual global event, which has taken place in the resort city since 2002. The forum’s aims include the formulation and implementation of innovative projects to attract investment. International Investment Forum Sochi has become one of the most important and largest events in Russian economic life.
With the alpine and Nordic events held at the nearby ski resort of Roza Khutor in Krasnaya Polyana, Sochi hosted the XXII Olympic Winter Games and XI Paralympic Winter Games in 2014, as well as the Russian Formula 1 Grand Prix from 2014 until at least 2020, subject to the circuit being ready in time. It will also be one of the host cities for the 2018 FIFA World Cup.

Winter theater is the main concert hall of the south of Russia. The building of 1937 is a notable architecture monument of Soviet times.
Park im. Frunze
Summer theater «Cabaret Cubana» – entertaining complex, located in Stalinist architecture building in Frunze Park Sochi. Theater-cabaret gives spectacular shows performed by 50 Cuban dancers every Friday, Saturday and Sunday at 21:00, ticket price – 15 - 50 euro.
There is also salsa disco.
The Sochi Arboretum is a treasure trove of Russian subtropics, numbering more than 2,000 exotic and rare plants that were brought to the park from all over the world. Besides flora arboretum boasts rare animals and birds living in it, as well as ropeway, with impressive views of the mountains and the sea, which open on the top point of the arboretum.

Observation tower on Batareyka hill ("Battery")
The tower was built in 1977 and is one of the main attractions of the city. Its height is 20 meters. From the tower's observation platform, which is at 150 meters above sea level, overlooking a beautiful view of the sea and amazing beauty of the city panorama.

Saint Michael's Cathedral
The Cathedral of St. Michael the Archangel is the oldest Orthodox church in Sochi and the entire Black Sea Oblast of the former Russian Empire. Its construction was decreed by Grand Duke Michael Nikolaevich of Russia with a view to commemorating the victorious conclusion of the prolonged Caucasian War in 1864.
